| What is a Snapshot Studio? A portable, user-controlled digital photo booth that can be set up at any kind of event. Guests at the event take their own photos using a remote. The studio was developed as a result of three years of experience setting up studios at weddings. The design of the studio is ideal for easy set-up and removal and provides a cost-effective way for photographers to increase their income from these events. How can it benefit my business? Adding the Snapshot Studio to your list of services adds great earning potential for your business. Many clients are renting traditional photo booths for their event coverage at a cost of $3,000 to $4,000. You can add this service for whatever you decide to charge (Love Life Images charges between $300 and $750) and offset the cost of the studio in only three events. Because you do not have to pay someone to man the studio, there is no additional cost to add it to your services. Set-up only takes 15 minutes and can be done by one person. Also, collecting email addresses at the event gives you one more opportunity to market yourself to guests attending the event. Later, when you post the images online, guests have the opportunity to purchase prints, providing another source of income for the studio. How much does it cost? $1499 plus $75 shipping. How long does it take to set up? The first time you set it up will take about 30 minutes, but after putting it up and taking it down at many events, Love Life Images is able to set it up in 15 minutes or less. Once you set it up, you are free to go back to photographing the event. The design was created so that one person can set it up on their own. Can it be used inside or outside? Yes. The structure is extremely sturdy and user-friendly. With the old set-up-a regular cloth or paper backdrop on a backdrop stand- you may find yourself worrying about the wind blowing over the backdrop. This has been resolved with the new studio and now it is able to be set it up inside or out, without worrying about the wind. Wouldn't it be more cost-effective for me to buy a backdrop, two lighting stands and a tripod and set it up myself? That's exactly what Jennifer Domenick of Love Life Images (one of the designers) did for years and this new set-up is a result of all the frustrations she had with the backdrop and light stands. Guests constantly kicking the lightstands, a backdrop that was always wrinkled (despite years of trying different materials), having to carry around three different bags and sometimes forgetting one, and not being able to shoot without worrying that the backdrop was going to fly away in the wind were all major issues she had with the old system. This new set-up was created so that you don't have to go through that learning curve and can immediately benefit from those years Jennifer spent working out those frustrations. What’s included? The poles for the structure, a plexiglass platform and protective backing for the camera, a cloth backdrop with attachments, tools for setting up the studio, additional attachments for the cloth, a sign explaining the set-up to guests (users), an umbrella and a heavyweight bag that will fit in a standard-size trunk. What kind of camera or lighting is included? None. We purposely chose not to include a camera or the remote. This way, you can either use an old camera that is not being used (back-up camera) or purchase a camera that can be a back-up for your own system. Canon users can use Canon cameras and Nikon users can use Nikon cameras. The only requirement for the camera in the studio is the remote-control option must be available for the camera. (Consult your user manual to check if your camera has this option). Remotes are not included either, but can be purchased from an camera store for $30 or less. We recommend a fixed lens of 35mm for the camera in the studio, but you can choose to use a zoom lens as well. How big is it and how much does it weigh? Assembled, it is 7’ tall, 5’6” wide and 5' deep. Disassembled and in the bag, it is 50” long, 10”deep and 8”tall. The bag will fit into the trunk of a standard car. The entire set-up including the bag weighs approximately 35 pounds. Are the images printed on site? No. We do not provide a printing option with the set-up as we have found that on-site printing can hinder the number of photos guests take. We have found that without printing, guests are more creative and willing to take more photos. Love Life Images uploads their images to Pictage and sells the images after the event. Does the backdrop come in any other colors? If you have a specific color request, please email us. We are happy to accommodate you if we can.
